About JSI Digital Bootcamp

Social media platforms can serve as powerful tools in advancing public health work. However, it can feel difficult to get started: What platform(s) should you choose? How often should you post? What should you share? It can also feel like a lot of work to manage and maintain social media platforms, especially if your role includes more than just social media management.

JSI Digital Bootcamp was designed by JSI’s public health communicators because we believe everyone can develop the skills needed to use social media effectively to improve the public health of their communities. We have worked with federal, state, and local agencies; foundations; and community-based organizations to create social media strategies that work and help our partners reach their goals. 

Through our work together, you’ll be paired with a social media expert who will provide customized technical assistance. Our approach was not designed to be one-sized fits all, because every organization is different. Instead, our social media trainings are tailored to your unique needs.

Getting Started with Social Media Outreach – Social Media 101

Do you want to start using social media, but don’t know how to get started? Do you currently use social media, but feel like you’re not getting the engagement you need to reach your goals? Does posting to social media feel time consuming? We can help! Through this series of training sessions, we’ll work together to guide you through creating a social media strategy to achieve your goals. Together, we’ll set up systems to streamline your social media content creation and management and discuss ways to create engaging content that reaches your audiences. We’ll also review metrics and how to track and report out on metrics to your organization.

Introduction to Social Media Advertising and Paid Outreach

When it comes to building and reaching your audience across social media, paid promotion and advertising are cost effective tools to help you reach your social media goals. However, for first time advertisers, navigating the platforms and choosing the right strategy can feel daunting. Together with a social media trainer, we’ll develop an advertising strategy, select platforms, and create advertisements that cut through the noise to reach your audience. We’ll also review best practices for measuring your advertisements and using metrics to make informed, data-driven decisions.

Custom Social Media Technical Assistance

As public health communicators, we know there’s not a “one-size-fits-all” approach to effective social media. With this package, our trainers will work with you one-on-one to design a plan that fits your needs to help you reach your social media goals.
